The Educational Advising Center provides information and services to people in Cameroon who intend to study in the United States of America and to persons or organizations abroad about Cameroon's educational system and schools.
Services
The following services are available at the Educational Advising Center:
- Advice on planning for education and career, selection of fields of study and/or career search at undergraduate and graduate levels;
- Information on accredited institutions of higher education in the U.S. and in Cameroon;
- Access to publications, college/university catalogs, university descriptions and addresses;
- Registration booklets, study materials and guidance for standardized tests such as TOEFL, SAT, GMAT, GRE, and others;
The educational adviser is also available to make presentations to schools, businesses, community groups, and others on studying in the U.S.

Regular Sessions
I. General Introductory Session on Study in the U.S. (FREE)

For students with admission letters to U.S. universities and who have or are expecting their I-20.

Individual Educational Advising
- EAC Member Advising: By appointment only. Advanced scheduling of individual educational advising appointments is available only to EAC Members. Appointments by members should be booked at least two weeks in advance and are subject to availability. For more about how to become an EAC Member, visit the EAC Membership page.
- Open Advising: Open Advising is available to the general public. The cost is 1000 FCFA for a 30 minute session. Payment is due at the beginning of the appointment. Open Advising takes place in the EAC located in the Information Resource Center (IRC) at the U.S. Embassy in Yaoundé. Such advising times allows the general public individual appointments with an Educational Advisor and will be available on specified days each month on a first-come, first-served basis. Open Advising dates will be listed at least monthly on this webpage. Individuals are required to attend one of the group sessions listed above before they will be allowed an individual appointment. Individuals must fulfill all normal requirements to gain access to the IRC which means non-IRC members must contact the IRC 24-hours ahead of time (2220.15.00 ext. 4340) and ask for permission to enter the center on the desired date. Note: Photo identification is required for all sessions. The Educational Advising Center is closed on U.S. and Cameroonian holidays. No sessions are offered during EAC or U.S. Embassy closures.
