U.S. Ambassador Signs Refugee Grant Agreement with Cameroon Red Cross

Ambassador Niels Marquardt and the Project Manager for Cameroon Red Cross, François-Hervé Moudourou signed a Refugee Grant Agreement on June 29, 2005 resulting in twenty thousand dollars of assistance from the United States to Cameroon Red Cross to fight against malaria and malnutrition amongst urban refugees in Yaounde.
In an interview with the press, Ambassador Marquardt said the objective of this program was to take preventive measures against malaria, malnutrition and other related diseases amongst the refugee populations residing in Cameroon.
The interview was aired on CRTV, STV, and six private radios stations during primetime newscasts. The National bilingual daily, Cameroon Tribune reported on the ceremony, highlighting U.S. aide to Cameroon and the fact that the U.S. government have over the years supported the Cameroon Red Cross to handle health needs of refugees in Yaounde.
