Resumption Of Consular Section Visa Services

The U.S. Embassy wishes to notify the public that the Consular Section has resumed regular visa services. Visa renewals for certain frequent travelers are available on Mondays at 12:00, and the "open appointment" services for visa applicants with pending cases will be handled according to normal practice – see website for details on this limited service.
As always, expedited appointments are available for cases relating to humanitarian travel, academic travel and certain kinds of business travel. People can request an expedited appointment by e-mailing: YaoundeNIV@state.gov, stating their name and date of birth, nationality, steps taken to make sufficient advance preparation and why they were not successful, the reasons why travel cannot be deferred, the reason for travel to the United States and the date of requested interview. Applicants should follow those instructions carefully and should not submit appointment requests that do not meet the criteria outlined.
